by B. Swanson

Learning about golf isn’t easy. It can be quite difficult to figure out how to get the power you need to drive the ball far enough down the fairway-and it can take years of practice to gain good golf swing skills. However, learning to accurately and easily use golf putters can take even more golf training.

Putting skills can be improved through golf training academies, or sometimes it can also be quite helpful to work with a caddy. Some people, though, prefer to work on improving their skills on their own because they enjoy analyzing the terrain themselves. Experts also suggest doing putting training with the eyes closed.

Yes, it does sound strange; however, it can be quite helpful to people who are trying to learn how to become skilled at putting. Many professional golfers even use the eyes-closed method with their golf putters when practicing. Here are the three steps to this technique:

Drop some golf balls on the green and use any of your golf putters to putt them with your eyes closed. Concentrate on feeling how the stroke flows.

Drop some more golf balls down. This time, putt with your eyes open; however, do not try aiming toward a goal. Instead, putt with feeling, paying attention to the stroke without concerning yourself about where the ball is going.

Finally, try putting toward a goal with your eyes closed. Place one golf ball on the green, take a good look at the green and the target, and then close your eyes. Relax, and try to swing with that same feeling as you had before toward the target.

This is not a technique that anyone will master at first try, of course. Instead, this is a practice technique, one that should become part of a golf training routine. This method will help you to gain control over your putter-if you have the patience to learn it.

If you want to learn how to accurately and easily use golf putters, you must also learn how to read the greens. Every green is different, so you need to understand how to use golf putters on various types of terrain. Additionally, conditions may be different on each course. It is essential for you to have a good understanding of how to interpret the greens.

Reading the greens on a golf course isn’t particularly difficult; however, like every other aspect of golf, it does involve some practice in order for it to be done correctly. It is essential to know about greens so that you will understand how to get the best control out of your golf putters.

Speed and slope are the most important parts of working the greens. You must learn to discern the slope of the greens so that you can putt the ball with enough force so as to take the ball past the hole by about 15 to 17 inches. According to golf training professionals, this is the best way to keep the ball in a straight line toward the hole. If the ball is hit without enough speed, it will slow down and begin to follow the natural slope of the green, possibly rolling away from the hole.

Missing the hole when putting can be quite irritating for many golfers. It might be helpful to know that even professional golfers miss their putts quite often. In fact, professionals miss about 50% of their 6-foot putts! Amateurs cannot expect to do better than that with their golf putters, can they?

Gaining strong ability with golf putters is not an easy endeavor; but, anyone who puts in the time and effort can learn good putting skills.

Even people who don’t play golf but still enjoy watching it are aware of the importance of perfecting the golf swing. The better the golfer’s swing, the lower their scores will ultimately be and the more they will enjoy the game overall. Since golf has become of the most favored of all sports, it is no wonder that golf swing training is very much in demand and highly sought after.

One of the simplest approaches to golf swing improvement is to use a special golf training club. This type of club can help to increase the golf swing speed and the power behind the swing as well. If you really want to improve your golf swing, then you cannot really find a golf training device that is more specific or effective.

It has been proven over the course of many years that the best way to undertake golf swing training is to use a golf swing trainer. This is a club that is specially weighted. The additional weight of this golf trainer provides resistance and if you repeatedly practice your swing with this resistance, then you have the potential to quickly improve your overall swing.

The most apparent and direct result of using a golf training club correctly is an increase in driving distance that a golfer will notice almost immediately. This is because the golfer is training the muscles that he uses during a swing to work against the resistance of the weighted golf club, which provides an element of strength training. When the golfer picks up a standard club, his muscles will have been readied to hit the ball harder than ever before because of this strength training.

Training to improve the golf swing is primarily a function of repetition combined with muscle training. It is helpful to go through the complete range of motions for a standard swing, or an even bigger range of movement if possible, with as many repetitions as possible.

However, it is more important to make sure that you are also practicing the correct stance during this training. Using a golf training club, or any other type of golf training aid, without taking the time to learn how to use them correctly will only result in frustration and disappointment. Practicing a swing that has poor form will not improve your game. If you are not sure whether or not you have proper form, then you should seek out the help of professional golf swing trainers.

Another side benefit of golf swing training is that it can go a long way to making your backswing and follow through movements better and more connected, making your swing flow from beginning to end. This is important because you can deliver more power and hit the ball further. It is also a very good idea to do other kinds of exercises that will strengthen and stretch you body in other ways that will serve to make you stronger and more capable on the course.

The long game refers to your drives (shots off the tee) and fairway shots; everything short of the shots you make to get onto the green.

Each hole has a different difficulty level, different par and distinctive hazards, so instructing you to use your Driver on every tee would be blatantly wrong.

This is something you will learn over time as you learn the various shots you make according to the club, the placement of the ball and your personal swing.

Generally speaking, the lower the club number, the longer and lower your ball will go. A 4-iron shot will travel long and low and will most likely roll, whereas a 9-iron shot will have much more loft and go less distance both in the air and on the ground.

The professionals on television make it look so easy; they consistently hit the ball long and straight and never miss-hit the ball making it dribble ten feet, or completely miss the ball.

Driving is very important to the game, and many hours spent at the driving range will help improve your distance. Experiment with the same club to see what works for you if you move the ball forward or backward in your stance. Take a lesson, if possible, and learn the proper swing from the beginning.

Mastering the long game helps you get to the green in fewer strokes, keeping your score and frustration level down. Remember that it takes a long time to learn consistency and remember to have fun!

Do you miss most of your putts to the right? Do you seem to always push your putts or open the putter face at impact? If so, this may help you, particularly if you place your right (or left) forefinger down the shaft of your putter.

For years, I seemed to always open the putter face at impact and push the ball to the right. I tried just about everything but nothing seemed to work. Then, one day as I was practicing my stroke on an artificial green in my golf shop, I noticed that my right forefinger which I was placing down the shaft (I am right-handed) was applying too much pressure on the shaft as I hit the ball. This action pushed the heel of the putter forward thus opening the face as well as actually lifting the heel off the ground. I then tried to remove my forefinger from the grip but couldn’t find a comfortable position in which to place it. Finally, out of desperation, here is what I did.

I took my normal grip with my left hand then placed my right hand directly opposite it at the top of the shaft. Then, I placed both my right and left forefingers down the shaft but under it so they would not have anything to do with striking the ball.

Actually, the putter shaft rests on both forefingers. By applying a small amount of pressure on the tips of the forefingers where they touch one another, I found that I was able to maintain a steady and consistent stroke without opening the putter face. You will also notice that with both hands facing one another at the top of the putter shaft, the thumbs will cross one another. I found that by placing my right thumb over the left, I obtained a “locked” hand position but I think the same thing can be accomplished with either thumb over the other. It is just a matter of preference. Either way will get the shoulders to turn rather than using too much “hands” and create the desired pendulum stroke.

I have shown it to several of my golfing pals and some like it, others don’t. Those who do tell me that moving the right hand high on the putter keeps both hands joined and helps them keep a square putter face. Those who don’t care for it simply say that it feels uncomfortable.

If you have any questions about it, contact me at my site quoted above with “putter grip” in the subject line. I will get back to you as soon as I can. In any case, I would like to know if it helped you or not. Give it a chance to work before giving up on it. Good Luck!

Golf is a wonderful game, played by many throughout the world I think the attraction of the game for me is that you can build the best golf swing ever, but you can never beat the game.

You will have your good days and certainly you will have your bad days but it is the constant challenge that golf puts up to me that keeps me coming back. Like a scene from a comedy film I have seen friends and relatives throw clubs in frustration at their lack of skills.

The people that get most frustrated are usually the ones who care about the game the most and turn up next week regular as clockwork.

How To Develop A Sound Golf Swing

The problem with starting out golf is that there is so much to think of and to buy. Getting the clubs is only the start, then you need the bag, glove and clothing. You then need something to hit and quite often lose, the golf balls, then of course you need to be prepared for the weather so you need shirts, jumpers and of course a wet suit just in case it rains.

Once you have all that then you may start to think about having some golfing lessons to learn about the golf swing itself.

A good idea to start out with is a course of lessons with the club pro. This will give you a sound grasp of the fundamentals of golf swing technique which you can work into your game through practice. Always look for courses that include a lesson or two on the actual course at the end.

Driving ranges and practice areas are essential parts of any golf club but there is never any substitute for experience on the course. When starting out, course management is probably very far from your mind but a little bit of knowledge in this area is worth many shots. Taking a lesson out on the course is the best practice you can get, real world situations tackled by you under the watchful eye of your pro.

After you have finished your regular golf lessons keep in touch with the pro and have the odd lesson to check on your progress and to see no errors have crept into your swing.

If paying for golf lessons becomes a problem then either spread them apart over more time or start looking for instructional books and videos to compensate. You can always go back to the pro at a later date to iron out specific problems under an experienced eye.

A golf swing book is great because being lightweight you can take it to the driving range and practice that golf swing tip the author is explaining to you first hand. Video is a great medium in which to learn new technique, you really get to see and feel at the same time.

Enjoy your golf, that is why you play it after all, that bad shot is in the past nothing you can do about it now, just enjoy nailing the next.

by Ray Lam

Over the last decade a new breed of club has evolved that cannot be described by the traditional club numbering system. They have been born out of the need of players to max out the choice of clubs as they seek their lower scores. In fact it seems like a relatively sensible idea – a club, or clubs, that have a number of features allowing them to perform several functions, rather than the standard single function that most traditional clubs offer. Using hybrid golf clubs has become the new solution to these issues and more and more pros and amateurs alike have one or more in their bag right now.

Irrespective of capability, hybrid golf clubs well suited to the golfer who wants to improve his or her score – perhaps even above expectations, without having to put so many hours practice in. They are a type of club that elevates even a new starter in the game to a higher level, because of the flexibility and forgiveness that they offer. Look, the thing is that hybrid golf clubs have helped many thousands of ordinary golfers exceed even their wildest dreams, improving the game of the man in the street (or perhaps it should be the man on the golf course!).

Hybrid golf clubs are often constructed of two different types of materials, so they look different than other golf clubs. Of course, some of these clubs actually work much better than regular clubs do. One example of a hybrid club is made by Adams. These clubs are constructed of both fairway wood and iron making them very sturdy and durable. In addition, these clubs often allow you more control in hitting the ball where you want it to go.

Hybrid golf clubs are specially designed clubs that can help improve the game of any amateur or even a beginner. No matter what your skill level is, hybrid golf clubs can definitely improve your shots. This is particularly useful for those people who want to improve their game but are too busy with work or other parts of their life to practice enough.

Actually, if you think about it, a hybrid golf club designer has new and interesting challenges way beyond the demands of the standard clubs. Not that the technology for them is stagnant – but the new challenges of hybrid golf clubs have stretched designers in compelling ways, making them even more creative and innovative.

Most of the websites devoted to discount golf equipment are also loaded with tips for the optimum use of the products they sell. You’ll be able to buy excellent items from these sites and know how to maximize their use by the time they arrive at your door. You may want to spend some time browsing the online “Golf Weekly” magazine. In it you’ll find articles written by and about professional golfers which explain their use of the different clubs as well as brands and hybrid brands which are considered the best. You will also find many tips that will help you improve your game.

Taylormade Golf Clubs necessitated a hard nosed approach to maintaining optimal quality during manufacture thereby preserving their reputation. There is a vast array of patents issued on design technology and innovation which typify their commitment to excellence. I enjoy the fact the each piece of kit performs as consitently as the other.

Considerable variety and ingenuity is a hallmark of the brand that is known as Taylormade golf. A large golf club product offering is at hand from Taylormade golf who also specialise in golf accessories. Industry forefront computer aided design and product simulations all add a considerable benefit to eventual product characteristics for golfers.

The response to the release has been nothing short of phenomenal for Taylormade Golf Clubs. Usually I dont get too excited about something like this but my first use rekindled an old fire. These are not only physically pleasing to look at but have a vast ability to perform under all conditions.

Tour inspired aesthetics combined with a reduced spin design makes the 3 & 4 irons clubs a dream to hit. Taylormade Golf Clubs 5 – 7 irons feature a hollow back design which moves the weight low and back for the easiest-to-hit and longest mid-irons ever. CGB RAC R7 Burner. Cavity back playability and performance are enlisted with the design of the 8 – pw irons to complete the set.

Taylormade Golf Clubs have proven to be a piece of kit that is incredibly easy to use and I only wish I had acquired them much earlier. 3 rounds in row now within 3 shots of each other is a good initial indicator for me with a 5 shot variance the norm from my statistics. I am not getting any younger and my game is shortening but these clubs have levelled the field a little for me again.

Without doubt the focus of these clubs for golfers is game improvement facilitation for a wide skillset of players. Whether to have hybrids in my set or not is now a real no brainer and they just do their job exceptionally well. Taylormade Golf Clubs incorporates hybrids muscle backs cavity backs and a few more features I couldnt give a gnats freckle about but I do now have something that enables me to caress the golf ball with sufficient dexterity to be able to loosely call myself a golfer.

Dont get carried away with your own abilities when you acquire your spoting gear. This should ensure you get satisfaction and equipment that will improve your game. Intentionally catering to a wide range of player skillsets have been designed into the Taylormade Golf Clubs.

If you have a good trusted suppliler that you are happy with then stick with them to avoid geting burnt. Beware ridiculously cheap deals as you are likely to be getting an inferior copy or damaged stock from an unscrupulous dealer. Worth a visit are offtogolf.com.au golfsaleadams.com and offtogolf.com.au who have promptly delivered for me in the past. Taylormade Golf Clubs

by Ray Lam

Golf isn’t a game for the wealthy anymore. Public places like the Pebble Beach G. Links is a public golf course. Meaning, as opposed to the usual practice of the past in allowing only the club members access to the golf course, public golf course allows non membership access provided though that the green fee is played.

If you know where to look, there are many cheap golf clubs you can buy that can help improve your performance far better than some of the more costly clubs. I am talking about second hand but high-quality golf clubs. The question is – where do you start looking for these great cheap golf clubs?

If you want to buy some of these excellent but cheap golf clubs, you will have to constantly scan the ads in golf magazines or even in your local newspaper to know where cheap golf clubs are being sold. Many golfers who are quite serious about their game regularly dispose of their old branded clubs in exchange for the newer models that come out in the market. These old clubs usually end up for sale at golf supplies shops at a much lower price.

Go for second tier brand name clubs. The line between what is considered top brand name and second tier club manufacturers is becoming more blurred nowadays. For the sake of argument, the following clubs would be categorized as second tier: Adams Golf, Maxfli, Bridgestone, Mizuno, Tour Edge, Nickent, Hippo, and G.R.I.P. These are all quite cheap clubs but of a good quality and can be found at TGW or InTheHole.

G.R.I.P. is worth a look as they are less well known that the others. When it comes to cheap clubs, for the money, playability, innovation, and custom fitting options, G.R.I.P. is at the top of my list. These clubs are designed exclusively for the beginner or recreational golfer as they are so forgiving and easy to play; they bring the fun back into golf – you will only find these clubs at the G.R.I.P. official site.

Another great advantage of buying cheap golf clubs from avid golfers is that there is a great chance that the secondhand cheap golf clubs have been very well maintained by their previous owner. Serious golfers are very particular about their equipment, and you can be almost certain that their golf clubs receive good care while in use.

Although there are several golf club clone manufacturers, the one that stands out from the rest is Pinemeadow Golf. The make the best high quality custom built clubs that are comparable in performance and features to the top brands but cost a fraction of the price. Ping, TaylorMade, Cleveland, Callaway, and Odyssey are a few of the top brands that they clone.

What is your first thought when you go to the tee to hit your golf ball? You want to hit it as hit as possible, right? That is just a myth. You want to hit the ball enough to make it go far, but you don’t want to waste your energy either. You should be thinking about your stance and the club.

Your drive is only as good as your club. You will want to make sure that you have purchase a club that is worthy of being used. You want to check the flexibility of the shaft to make sure that you can control the ball as much as possible. You will also want to think about the steps of a goal swing. When you go to swing, many people forget to follow through and that affects your drive.

Make sure that your stance is correct and that you go through all the steps, including the follow though so that you are able to drive the ball on course and far. Trust your club. If you are using a driver, it will send the ball further than you can imagine, but have faith.

Here is one last tip when it comes to driving the ball. You will don’t want to let yourself focus on hitting the ball with force. It is important, but as long as you have a good stance and your club is worthy enough for you, you will do fine. There are so many other factors than how hard your hit the ball that will determine the distance that the ball will go.

Golfing is hard! You won’t be a pro within a couple weeks. Golfing is something that you have to work hard with. You have to practice to get better and you have to follow some tips from various sources for you to have a good game.

You will want to ask some of your friends what they think, as well as research the game. You may want to go online to find tips to help you with your stance or your swing and you will want to purchase or rent some movies that will help you improve your game. There are also a lot of self-help books that are devoted to the game and will help you improve all of the things that you need to work on as a beginner. As long as you got a good swing, you can work on everything else. You first have to master the swing.

How does anyone become better at what they do?

Anyone knows that get to the top of your game you need practice and the more you want to succeed the more you will need to practice.

Vijay Singh has been known as the golfer who practices more than any other.
He has stated that he might not be the most talented golfer in the world but his dedication to practice more often and longer than most others enabled him to succeed beyond the expectations of many people.

Vijay got to the top of his game by practicing from morning until night.

Before tournaments here would be practicing for hours.

Michael Campbell won the US Open and in his early years when he was a youngster he would practice so much in his yard he would literally wear the clubs out and have to replace them for more practice.

The more you practice the higher the probability that you will naturally make the right moves without having to think about the actions you are taking.
And the less you have to think about your stance, swing and so on, the more likely you are to hit the sweet spot more often and get the ball sailing through the air as though Tiger has just hit it.

Practice can be both cheap and convenient with driving ranges allowing you to hit a bucket full of golf balls to naturally program your mind and body to perform better once you hit the course in the weekend.

Here’s the fun part – while your mates are watching television during the week you can sneak off to the driving range and sharpen your skills and then trounce them on the weekend and they will be none the wiser where your newfound skills have been honed.
